Refund Policies

These policies apply to all students enrolled in our program

📌 The Philadelphia English Language Institute does not issue refunds for courses not started by the student (no-shows).  


📌 Students who have paid full or partial tuition, may request a tuition refund if cancelling within five (5) days of registration.


📌 All requests for refunds must be done officially through a school advisor, supervisor, or the Program Director.

The last date of the student's recorded attendance or the date the cancellation request date is the termination date.


 You will be eligible to receive a refund:

 

  • When canceling within 5 days of registration  - 100% refund 
  • After 5 days of registration and before attending any classes - 100% tuition refund minus a non-refundable fee of $55
  • Up to 7 classes into the term - 45% refund of tuition minus a non-refundable fee of $55
  • Students may request a refund for any unused textbooks.

Tuition Refund Calculations for January-April 2022 Semester

Canceling within 5 days of registration- 100% refund

Canceling after 5 days from registration, but before sessions begin:

  • Tuition refund minus $55 registration fee
    • Example 1: $1510 paid - $1400 refund
    • Example 2: $1410 paid (with discount) - $1400 refund
    • Example 3: $755 paid (partial payment) - $700 refund

Canceling within 7 class days after sessions begin:

  • The student receives 45% tuition refund only.
  • The registration fee of $55 is non-refundable
  • The textbooks are non-refundable/non-returnable if used
    • Example 1: $1510 paid - $636.75 refund
    • Example 2: $1410 paid (with discount) - $636.75 refund
    • Example 3: $755 paid (partial payment) - $636.75 refund

Canceling after 7 class days 

  • NO REFUNDS
  • Students who paid in full cannot receive refunds and do not owe any amount.
  • Students who initially paid $755 (partial payment) cannot receive refunds and will still owe the full tuition amount, including the second payment of $755.


Temporary Withdraw

If a student withdraws within 7 class days after sessions begin and wishes to transfer their payment to the following semester, they must get approval from the Director.

  • Transfer can only apply to the term immediately following the term they withdrew from. (No transfers beyond one term.)
  • Students must confirm their re-enrollment with the Director or Academic Coordinator during the enrollment dates.
  • If a student does not follow these terms, the student loses their payment and they cannot receive a refund.


Refunds shall be made within 30 calendar days of the date the student fails to enter, leaves the program, or fails to return from a leave of absence.  Cancellation fees must be made within 5 calendar days of course cancellation.


Payment of the partial tuition cancellation fees must be made in order to re-enroll into a future course/program or sessions.

NOTE: There are no refunds for purchased used books.
