IEP Registration (F-1 International Students)

Here are the steps to apply and register as an F-1 student at PELI

1. Complete online application

2. Send documents:

• Copy of passport (must be valid for at least one year)
• Financial documentation (see below)
• If applying with dependents: copy of marriage certificate (spouse), copy of birth certificates (child)

3. Pay Application Fee to PELI

4. Receive Letter of Acceptance and I-20 

5. Pay SEVIS Fee: https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html

After we have reviewed your application and documents:

1. Apply for non-immigrant visa by completing form DS-160 and making $185 payment to USCIS  (https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/) 

2. Schedule and attend interview at embassy

3. Once visa is approved, notify PELI and make first payment for course within 5 days

Students can arrive up to 30 days before the start of class. However, students must report to the school by the date indicated on their acceptance letter.

After arriving in the United States

1. Report to PELI

2. Sign student agreement forms

3. Attend new student orientation

4. Take English placement test

5. Make any required enrollment payments

1. Complete online application

2. Complete "IEP F-1 Transfer Form"

3. Send documents:

• Copy of visa stamp and I-94 (www.cbp.gov/I94)
• Copies of all previously issued I-20 forms
• Copy of passport
• Financial documentation (see below)
• If applying with dependents: copy of marriage certificate (spouse), copy of birth certificates (child)

4. Pay Application Fee to PELI

5. Receive Letter of Acceptance and I-20 

1. Complete online application

2. Send documents:

• Copy of visa stamp and I-94 (www.cbp.gov/I94)
• Copies of all previously issued DS-2019 forms (if currently J-1 status)
• Copy of passport
• Financial documentation (see below)
• If applying with dependents: copy of marriage certificate (spouse), copy of birth certificates (child) *must be translated into English*

3. Pay Application Fee to PELI

4. Receive Letter of Acceptance and I-20

5. Pay SEVIS Fee: https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html

6. File form I-539: https://www.uscis.gov/i539online

Students must demonstrate ability to pay no less than $7,500 if applying for 1 trimester of study. 

Students must demonstrate ability to pay no less than $15,000 if applying for 2 trimesters of study.

Source of Financial Support and Documents Required

Student Funds (Personal)

1. Recent bank statement (less than 90 days old)
2. Complete and sign form “Student Payment Agreement”

Family / Friend / Other Funds (Sponsor)

1. Signed letter from the sponsor’s bank on official bank letterhead stating the account balance OR completed form “Bank Confirmation Letter”
2. Complete and sign form “Sponsor’s Affidavit of Support”
